The Faculty of Engineering provides a thriving working environment for all PGRs creating a strong sense of community across research disciplines. Community and research culture is important to our PGRs and the FoE support this by working closely with our Postgraduate Research Society (PGES) and our PGR Research Group Reps to enhance the research environment for PGRs. PGRs benefit from training through the Researcher Academy’s Training Programme, those based within the Faculty of Engineering have access to bespoke courses developed for Engineering PGRs. including sessions on paper writing, networking and career development after the PhD. The Faculty has outstanding facilities and works in partnership with leading industrial partners. 

The studentships are fully funded for 3 or 3.5 years (dependant on project) and include a stipend and tuition fees.

The University of Nottingham will provide the fully funded for 3 or 3.5 years (dependant on a project) and include a stipend and tuition fees to the suitable candidate.

Eligibility Criteria
  1. Degree – 2:1 or masters in Engineering or another relevant area (science, computer science, mathematics etc.)
  2. International and EU equivalents – we accept a wide range of qualifications. For information on entry requirements from your country, click here
  3. IELTS – 6 (with no less than 5.5 in any element)

If the supervisor wishes to support your application post-interview, they will apply to the Faculty by the 25th February 2022 for funding, if successful you will be notified by the Faculty of Engineering. Please note that supervisor support does not guarantee to fund.
