Under Ph.D Scholarships for international students by University of Edinburgh Centre for Cardiovascular Science and the University of Copenhagen applications are being invited from eligible candidates. International PhD Studentships in Dissecting Genetic Drivers of Obesity-Related Metabolic Diseases are being offered by the University of Edinburgh Centre for Cardiovascular Science and the University of Copenhagen. The funding initiative is designed to assist students from any country who wish to pursue a PhD degree at the university for the academic session 2022-2023.

The selected candidate will be expected to spend a significant amount of time in Copenhagen (based flexibly on 2Y:2Y model). The studentship includes an international fee waiver, a four-year UKRI-level stipend (£15,609 in 21/22, with yearly increments), £5K in APCs per year, and £400 per year for travel.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Students of all nationalities are encouraged to apply.
  • Applicants can apply to enroll in PhD degree coursework in Dissecting Genetic Drivers of Obesity-Related Metabolic Diseases

    To be eligible, applicants must have to meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Must have a solid background in computer architectures and machine learning.
  • Proficient skills in C, C++, and Python.
  • Must have a 1st class Bachelor’s degree and/or Distinction Master’s degree in computer science or highly related subjects.
  • Knowledge of deep learning, optimization, distributed systems, and high-performance computing is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Dr. Mai’s recent AI system research.
Application Procedure
  • To be considered for the opportunity s, applicants first have to take admission in a PhD degree programme at the Edinburgh School of Informatics. After that, candidates should apply via the online application form.
  • Supporting Documents: Students must submit all degree transcripts and certificates (and certified translations if applicable), a short research proposal (max 2 pages), a full CV and cover letter describing your background, suitability for the PhD, and research interests (max 2 pages) and two references.
  • Admission Requirements: For taking admission, students must have to check the entry requirements of their chosen program.
