International students from any country with international fee-paying status are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

University of Adelaide is welcoming applications from domestic and international students for Australian Research Council PhD Research Scholarship funded by the Australian Research Council Discovery Project.

The standard application process for PhD scholarships for international students is highly competitive; this scholarship is an opportunity to gain direct entry into the PhD program outside of that process.

  • For the duration of the scholarship the recipient will receive a 100% Tuition Fee Waiver
  • A stipend of AUD$28,092 (2020 rate, indexed annually) per annum.
Eligibility Criteria

Candidates are expected to meet the following eligibility criteria for the University of Adelaide Australian Research Council PhD Research Scholarship;

  • Applicants must be international students
  • Applicants must be admitted into PhD degree program.
  • The award is available for PhD courses in Pure Mathematics/School of Mathematical Sciences offered at the University.
  • Have completed their qualifying Masters program of study;
  • Be a domestic student or an international student at the time of application and enrolment;
  • Enroll as a commencing student in a full-time PhD research program in Pure Mathematics/School of Mathematical Sciences/ University of Adelaide in the approved semester
  • Other factors such as community service, leadership qualities, and levels of motivation will also be taken into consideration.
  • Based on academic merit.
  • Applicants must have a High school certificate or equivalent
  • Students enrolling full time in the Honours program in the semester for which the scholarship is awarded.
  • Exceptional personal success skills (e.g., emotional maturity, motivation, perseverance, etc.)

Application is a two stage process, which are:

  • Application for Admission only must be submitted using the Online Application Form available at: https://www.adelaide.edu.au/graduatecentre/future-students/how-to-apply. Please indicate the name of the scholarship in the research interests’ field in the online application form.
